Rankmaniac 2012 would like to present its main DJ for today, rocking out as usual. As always, here’s a picture of Rankmaniac 2012:
Rankmaniac Presents: Final Music Festival Post
Today marks the final day of the 2012 search engine optimization competition, which means only one thing: the music festival is here so let’s get this party started!
The past couple of weeks have been quite stressful for all of us with all of the posts that needed to be made, but they have also been insanely fun. Our group really enjoyed sharing music with you guys, and it has been great to hear positive feedback about the music posts. We hope that you guys keep listening to Tiesto, Avicii, Kaskade, Porter Robinson, Benny Benassi, David Guetta, Afrojack, and the other artists we introduced you to. These guys are coming out with new tracks on a regular basis and we are sure that great things are going to keep coming our way in the world of electronic music.
Armin van Buuren tells us that dance music brings people together. Here at Rankmaniac 2012 we wholeheartedly agree with that statement – our music festival is set to attract visitors from all across the globe, all converging in one place to share their passion for dance music. Dance music has no cultural barriers; its language is universal and its message of forgetting about your worries and enjoying yourself speaks to everyone. We believe that dance music is a strong uniting force in this world. That’s why we have so much appreciation for the talent of world-class DJ’s that can create this music.
It seems appropriate to wrap up our blog with a few final thoughts on the music that we have been posting with such dedication. I personally am a huge fan of Avicii, and am counting on this highly talented musician to make it to the top of the DJ rankings in the next year or two. His popularity has skyrocketed in the past year or so, and I am absolutely certain that he will become one of the greatest names in the electronic music world. Avicii’s style seems to appeal to a wide variety of people, from those that are into some of the more intense electro house stuff to those that consider themselves more pop-oriented.
In running this blog, I have also grown to love Kaskade’s music a great deal. His style is different from Avicii’s, but I think that it also appeals to a diverse set of people, which is why he has been getting more and more popular. As with Avicii, my expectations for Kaskade are the highest.
These last few thoughts wrap up our posting. We hope that you enjoyed listening to our music because we definitely enjoyed posting it.
Thanks for reading!
All the best,
Your Rankmaniac 2012 Friends.
Rankmaniac 2012 presents: LMFAO
LMFAO is sorry for party rocking! And they are party rocking right here right now in this pre-festival party! Even the organizers were kept in dark about this name coming out to our festival – but LMFAO heard there is a party they can’t miss out on!
LMFAO in an electro pop duo that had a huge rise to fame in the past 2-3 years. Famous for their shocking lyrics and videos, full of color and amazing beat, they have THE songs to feature at any party. Here we bring you an exclusive interview Redfoo of LMFAO
Us: Are you guys having fun here tonight?
Redfoo: Absolutely! This is one of the best gatherings I’ve seen, well, ever honestly. And we like our parties loud, crowded and full of amazing people – but this one just tops that. Love the light effects, must have got some pretty hardcore sciency nerds to get those set up!
Us: We’ve got them for export if you need some! It is mostly last summer to ask this, but tell me something about Party Rock Anthem, how was making the video, are you shocked by the response?
Redfoo: Honestly, Melbourne Shuffle has been largely underrated, and we loved making the video, we love that dance style and we are thirlled that we can go down in the history for making shuffling go large. It is an amazing dance full of energy and characterizes are music so well. I love the movie “28 days later”, and it was an instant thing to mix in some aspects like that to bring something truly ours to the song and the video.
Us: Ok, we’re not going to keep you for much longer away from the crowd, just one more last question. How do you think the festival is going to go, and what you’ve got prepared for us?
Redfoo: Festival is going to be steaming! The artists present here, there’s Tiesto, Armin van Buuren on the main event stage, that will be massive. As far as our presence goes, we’ve got a short half an hour slot due to not scheduling this up with organizers ahead of time, but I think it will be amazing. We’ve got a couple of surprises for everyone, and I think it will go down sweet!
Us: Thanks, and enjoy the rest of the night!
Redfoo: Sure, and remember – everyday I’m shuffling.

Last year’s music festival
Rankmaniac presents: Armin van Buuren
As the festival date comes near (starting tomorrow!! everyone exited???
) ), the more DJs are coming out to the location! The prep-festival party is just warming up, and we are expecting it to be wild and unforgettable tonight, topped only by the festival tomorrow and Wednesday night!
Our VIP party (members of Rankmaniac VIP Caltech Club are also present on the location) will be having crazy laser show while we enter the Valentine’s day at midnight.
Here we are now with Armin van Buuren for an exclusive pre-festival interview!
Us: How does it feel to be topping the DJ list for several years in row?
Armin van Buuren: It’s absolutely brilliant. Growing up in Europe, electronic music was just everywhere around you, and it was inspiring. Jean Michel Jarre was everything to me back in the days. And then I shuffled a lot between law and electronic music, in the end just going all out with DJing and hoping the best will happen. And… here we are, just amazing, top of the world.
Us: What do you see as the next move?
Armin van Buuren: I just want to explore the limits. This is it, you know, this music is ultimate emotion, this is my picture of the world. I want to push it as far as I can go, and see where that takes me.
Us: How did you like Yearmix you put up in 2011? What are you hoping for in 2012?
Armin van Buuren: You know what, it takes me months and months of work to put it together, and even after so much work, I still want more. It was a good mix, I’ve had some better ones before, but I’m always really looking forward to the next ones. I think that each next one is going to be THE it, that’s how I start out, with the vision.
Us: Just over half a year ago you’ve become a dad, how’s that working out? How is the balance between life and music?
Armin van Buuren: My daughter is absolutely divine. I have to say, it does take me away from the work a bit, but she seems to love the music too, so we sometimes hang out together, and I seek her approval for the mixes…
Us: Going to grow up to be a DJ like her dad?
Armin van Buuren: … hehe … yea, she just might. It’s wonderful, brought my wife and me much closer together, we’ve been together for ages, but you know what it’s like, I work a lot. I’m on the road a lot. It is nice that now with a kid beside us, she gets to always have someone by her side.
Us: Ok, thanks for chatting to us, and we’ll let you go and do some partying now!
Armin van Buuren: Thanks for having me! And thanks for inviting me to Rankmaniac 2012 second year in a row! I love this place.
